Humans Are Weak
Day 3 of 30
Prompt for Day 3: CAT POEM
She didn’t seek his company,
Yet he sought hers, persistently.
Soft purrs, coaxing her hand out,
From beneath her seat.
Mewling softly; her resistance wanes,
He trails her through the park and all it’s lanes.
Despite her attempts to shake him off,
He clings to her like glue.
A dog’s sudden charge disrupts the scene,
And she scoops up the little fur ball in between.
Cradling him close, promising safety and care,
Glaring at the departing dog with a silent stare.
“Humans are weak,” the dog’s knowing wink conveyed,
The cat found his way, his purpose portrayed.
In an unexpected twist of fate,
The cat gained a home, and she, a new mate.
